For fall break Brandon's brother Brent came to Utah to visit grandpa and grandma Brooks. We LOVE it when they make trips to visit because that means that we get to hang out with them too!! It was so much fun for my kids to get better acquainted with their cousins Jake, Joel, Elli and Andrew!! Here is a rundown of our weeks activities. Thanks you guys for all of the fun memories!
TUESDAY October 14
Today grandpa and grandma took us and the kids to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. I picked Jacks up from school and we were on our way. The kids spent hours there looking at the dinosaurs, making dinosaur islands in the sand and digging for dinosaur bones we had such a great time there with our cousins.

WEDNESDAY October 15
Oh what a fun day we had today!! After the kids went to Andrew Austin's birthday party I took them to grandpa and grandma's house to hang out with their cousins. Jacks shot a BB gun for the first time and thought it was sooo cool. After shooting the kids carved little pumpkins. Jackson had so much fun drawing the face onto the pumpkin and then attempting to cut it out himself. It wasn't too long though before he asked mom for help. Once the kids finished carving their pumpkins grandpa got his old pickup bed trailor out and hooked it to his tractor. He took all the kids on a ride to Hearts service station to get each of them a fountain drink. The kids had a blast. They smiled and waved to all the cars that passed by them. After their ride we ate a quick dinner and went on a Halloween cruise. It was the perfect halloween activity for young kids. We floated up and down the river and looked at all the lit pumpkins while our "pirate" guide told us a scary story. Oh yeah somewhere in the middle of all of this our boat was attacked by another pirate with candy!! Maggie thought it was a blast but Jacks was really scared. He kept trying to hide underneath our blanket. To top off the night the kids had a sleep over at grandpa and grandmas.

THURSDAY October 16
The kids had so much fun playing out in 5 acres of dirt!! It really is every little boys dream. We borrowed uncle Hal's 4 wheeler and took the kids on rides, the boys made forts in the dirt and just ran wild. For lunch they made homemade pizza's and then later that afternoon we took the kids to Cornbelly's. The kids had a great time walking through the haunted lizzard, watching the pig races, going through and getting lost in the corn maze and sliding down the big slides. Then it was back to grandpa and grandma's for pizza, hot apple cider and doughnuts!!

Friday and Saturday
I was a little skeptical about going to St. George for just overnight because of the long drive. But Brandon has a tradition in his family that goes back for almost 100 years. Over the deer hunt all the Brooks aunts and uncles and cousins go to Pinto the night before the deer hunt starts and eat dutch oven dinners, hang out around the camp fire, hike and shoot guns. So Friday afternoon we set out for the deer camp. It took us about 4 hours to get there and the kids were really good. Once we got there we went on a little hike with Brent's family up in the mountains. On our hike the kids tried to find some arrow heads. We weren't successful but we did find flint (a redish rock that the indians used to make arrow heads) the kids thought it was pretty cool. After our hike the kids shot the BB gun and some of the adults shot a 22 pistol. Kay brought a really loud pistol and shot a few rounds with that. After shooting we roasted hot dogs by the fire and ate dutch oven potatoes. It was really great to see family that we haven't seen in a while.
Saturday morning the kids were up and at em!! They wanted to get all the playing time in they could before they had to say goodbye to their cousins. We took the kids to the little playground behind my parents condo while we waited for grandpa and grandma to join us. Once we were all together we took the kids to the Dixie red rocks and let them climb around. They had so much fun exploring in the little holes and hideouts. ( I think my kids would have liked it even better if they hadn't had been so sleep deprived). After we climbed around a while we took the kids through the narrows. It was so much fun. After lunch at Wendy's we had to say goodbye to our cousins. It was not fun!! I think my kids are still going through withdrawals. We had such a great week with them. After our goodbyes we headed back to the condo to give the kids a good nap. Later that afternoon we all went swimming. I am so glad that we decided to go down to St George. We had a great time and couldn't have asked for better weather. Thanks Brent and Julie for letting us be such a big part of your vacation. We loved every minute of it!!

Petting Farm Fun
Yesterday was such a beautiful day. The perfect temperature for doing anything outdoors. So My good friend Melissa Gladwell and I decided to pack up the kids and head to Thanksgiving Point to visit the petting farm. I picked up Jacks from Kindergarten and we were off!! The kids had a blast looking, petting and feeding all the farm animals. Braden even loved it. He wanted to be right in there with the BIG kids. He would see the farm animals and just scream in a really high pitch scream it was sooo cute!!
The kids loved feeding the goats the tiny corn kernels. I was surprised that even Maggie would hold the kernel so that the goats could lick it out of her hand! Once we ran all out of kernels Maggie went on a pony ride (a real one) and then we all went on a horse and buggy ride around the outside of the farm. It was the highlight of the trip.

My Biker Chick!!
Ok so last Sunday after church before I could even get Braden out of the car my little Maggie ran over to Joel and Shari Eves house to play with her best bud Tyson. I told her that it was time to come home and so Tyson gave her a ride home on his bike. They are so dang cute together!! They ride around on this little hog all over the neighborhood. Maggie asks me every day if she can go over to Joel and Shari's house to play with Tyson. It is so fun for me to see her become more social and want to play with friends!! We are so lucky to have such great nieghbors!!
